WHY « LE VIN DE BLAISE » ?
Blaise (Granier) was the first in our family to plant vines, in 1910.
Hence LE VIN DE BLAISE of course !
On March, 12th,1910, 4 squares of 15 lines of 7 vine stocks…
A fine example of complantation :
9 white grape varieties on two squares,
14 red grape varieties on two other squares.
And names of grape varieties that have now disappeared:
Goat Teats, Pink Joanis, Blue Portuguese, Oeillade, Promised Land… Probably table grapes.
as there is also the Hamburg Muscat.
I found a harvest report for the year 1923!
Wine grapes, 28 900 kgs.
What a great great-grandfather !
